Do I need any experience to start training at XMNS Jiu Jitsu Academy?

Not at all. Most of our members started with zero martial arts experience. Our fundamentals classes are specifically designed to teach you everything from the ground up, and our coaches will be by your side every step of the way. All you need to bring is a willingness to learn.

What should I expect at my first intro session?

You'll tour the academy, meet a coach, and talk about your goals — whether that's getting in shape, learning self-defense, or preparing for competition. We'll recommend the right program for you and you'll get to see a class in action. There's no pressure and no commitment required.

Question 3

What should I wear and bring to my first class?

For your intro session, comfortable athletic clothing is fine — shorts or joggers and a t-shirt. If you continue into gi classes, we'll help you get set up with a gi. Bring a water bottle and a towel, and arrive about 10 minutes early to check in.

Is Jiu Jitsu a good workout for weight loss and getting in shape?

Absolutely. BJJ is one of the most effective full-body workouts you can do. You'll build strength, improve flexibility, and burn serious calories — all while learning a real skill. Many of our members say they got in the best shape of their lives training here.

We're located at 2902 North 68th Street in Scottsdale, AZ 85251 — right in the heart of South Scottsdale, easily accessible from Arcadia and greater Phoenix. Free parking is available on-site.

What ages do your kids and teens programs accept?

Our Kids Jiu Jitsu program is designed for children under 10, and our Teens program is built for teenage students. Both programs focus on building discipline, confidence, and real martial arts skills in a fun, safe environment. Contact us to find the right fit for your child.
